Frequently asked questions
Find clear answers about shopping, selling, payments, orders, returns, store management and using Varitya.
Signed-in users can open the notification bell in the header or the Notifications area in their account workspace. Email delivery may also be used for selected events when transactional email is enabled.
Yes. The marketplace country selector remains available in the public header. Changing it updates product and store discovery, but it does not rewrite historical orders that were placed with a different store, currency or delivery destination.
Your marketplace country controls which stores and products Varitya shows you. Local stores are ranked first, while international stores can also appear when they have chosen to sell and deliver to your country.
You can change your country at any time using the highlighted country selector in the header.
Yes, when that seller has enabled your country as a selling market and has a shipping option available for your delivery address.
The product page, cart and checkout will continue to use the seller's own currency rather than combining unrelated currencies.
You pay the store you are buying from through that store's supported payment gateway. Varitya does not centrally collect a seller's customer sales proceeds and redistribute them later.
If your basket contains products from more than one store, each store is checked out separately.
Available payment methods depend on the seller, your marketplace country and the payment providers enabled for that country. A store may use Stripe Connect, Paystack, Flutterwave or another Varitya-supported provider as those integrations become available.
The checkout page shows the payment option available for the specific store order.
Each Varitya store is an independent seller. Orders are therefore kept separate by store, currency, payment transaction and fulfilment responsibility.
This keeps your order history clear and ensures you always know which seller is processing a payment and delivering a particular purchase.
Sign in and open My Varitya → Orders. Your order page shows the current fulfilment stage, including payment confirmation, processing, shipping and completion.
If the seller adds a carrier or tracking reference, those details are also shown on the order.
Varitya temporarily reserves stock during checkout so another customer cannot buy the same reserved quantity at the same time. Unpaid reservations expire automatically and the stock is returned to availability.
Cancellation availability depends on the order's current status and the seller's handling stage. Open the order in My Varitya to see the actions currently available.
If the order can no longer be cancelled directly, use the return/request process or message the seller from the order conversation.
Open the relevant order and choose the return, refund or problem-reporting option. Varitya records the request and gives both you and the seller a case history.
Refunds are not treated as complete until the relevant seller payment provider confirms the refund.
Once a seller approves and submits a refund, the final timing depends on the payment provider and your bank or card issuer. Varitya records the refund status so you can see whether it is still processing or has been confirmed.
You can start a product enquiry from a product page or use the conversation attached to an existing order. Varitya keeps these messages inside the marketplace so the discussion remains connected to the relevant product or purchase.
For product details, delivery, stock, order fulfilment or a store-specific return, contact the seller first through Varitya messaging. For platform access problems, account issues, safety concerns or an unresolved marketplace dispute, use Varitya's Help Centre or the escalation options available on the relevant request.
Reviews are tied to verified purchases. A customer can review an eligible purchased item after the order reaches the required completed state. Sellers cannot edit customer reviews, while Platform Admin can moderate content that breaches marketplace rules.
Yes. Stores manage their own products, pricing, inventory, delivery, customer payments and fulfilment. Varitya provides the marketplace technology, discovery, account tools and trust/safety framework.
Yes. Signed-in customers can add products to their wishlist and can also revisit recently viewed products from My Varitya. Current price and availability are shown when you return.
Yes. You can manage delivery addresses from My Varitya → Account → Delivery addresses and choose the appropriate address during checkout.
Create a seller account and follow the guided Store Setup Wizard. It walks you through store details, country and currency, payment setup, shipping, branding, your first product and your Varitya subscription.
You can leave the wizard and resume it later.
Platform Admin controls store status. A store must be active before its active products can appear publicly in the marketplace. If your store is pending or suspended, your seller workspace will explain the current status.
Your store has a home country and a base currency. You can choose whether to sell domestically, to selected countries or worldwide, then configure the markets and shipping zones you actually serve.
The base currency should be chosen carefully before building a large catalogue because changing it later can require controlled repricing.
Yes. Configure your selling scope and the countries you serve, then add appropriate shipping zones. Varitya will show your products internationally only where your store is eligible to serve the visitor's selected marketplace country.
No. Varitya's marketplace model is designed so customers pay the seller through the seller's connected/supported payment account. Varitya does not add a marketplace commission to collect and redistribute your sales proceeds.
Varitya currently supports seller-owned integrations including Stripe Connect, Paystack and Flutterwave, subject to provider availability and the gateways Platform Admin enables for your country.
Your seller payment credentials belong to your store and sensitive merchant credentials are encrypted at rest where applicable.
Your Varitya subscription is the fee for using the marketplace platform and seller tools. It is separate from the money customers pay you for orders.
Available plans, product limits, trial periods and pricing are defined by Platform Admin and are shown in the seller billing area.
No. They are intentionally separated. Customer sales go through your seller payment provider, while your Varitya subscription is billed as a platform service.
Your catalogue capacity may depend on the Varitya subscription plan assigned to your store. The seller dashboard and billing page show the applicable product limit when subscription enforcement is enabled.
Yes. Variant products can have option groups such as Size, Colour, Capacity, Material or Style. Individual variants can have their own SKU, price, image, stock quantity, status and low-stock threshold.
You can manage stock from the Inventory workspace. Varitya records manual adjustments, opening stock, checkout reservations and released reservations in an inventory audit trail.
Low-stock and out-of-stock thresholds can trigger seller notifications.
Product images and store branding uploads use Varitya's configured Cloudinary integration rather than the temporary application deployment folder. This prevents images from disappearing when the Hostinger application is redeployed.
Once the seller payment provider confirms payment, the order enters the seller fulfilment workflow. You can move it through processing, shipped and completed states and add carrier/tracking information where appropriate.
Eligible refunds are submitted through the payment provider used for the original order. Varitya supports full and partial refund tracking and does not mark the refund complete until provider confirmation is received.
Customer requests appear in the seller Returns & Requests workspace. You can review the reason, respond, authorise a return where appropriate and track the request through its workflow. Cases can also be escalated for Platform Admin oversight.
Yes. Customers can send product enquiries and order-specific messages. Conversations are store-scoped and do not expose private personal email addresses as the normal communication method.
Sellers cannot edit or hide customer reviews. If you believe a review breaches marketplace rules, Platform Admin can moderate it. This separation helps preserve trust in verified-purchase ratings.
Yes. Sellers can create store-funded automatic sales and coupon codes, with percentage or fixed discounts, schedules, minimum spend and usage controls. Varitya does not fund these discounts.
Yes. Store Owners can manage a logo, banner, tagline, announcement, accent colour, store story, website/social links, shipping and returns policies, and featured products.
The seller Analytics & Reports area includes currency-safe sales reporting, product performance, fulfilment information, geography and reputation metrics. Financial values from different currencies are not combined into misleading totals.
Yes. Store Owners can invite staff and assign roles such as Catalogue Manager, Order & Fulfilment Staff, Customer Service Staff, Analyst or Store Administrator. Sensitive owner-only areas such as seller payment credentials and Varitya billing remain restricted.
Store Owners have an Access Audit showing relevant sign-ins, permission denials and sensitive staff activity for their store. Platform Admin also maintains a marketplace-level security audit.
Suspended or removed team members lose seller-workspace access. Permission checks are enforced on the server, not only by hiding menu links.
